Is luck in the shadows LGBT? ›

This series is billed as LGBT fiction by several sources. It's clear from the get-go that Seregil, our main man, is more gay than bi; it's obvious that Alec, his new young apprentice and the first such he's ever taken on, is in love with him and that Seregil returns the feelings with interest.

He's is openly written as bisexual, and later gets a love interest. There is a gay character introduced in the second book and then there is Lila. Lila is described often as “cross-dressing,” but V.E. Schwab confirmed, the same year the book came out, that Lila is in fact genderfluid.
