Friday the 13th: The Game is a multiplayer survival horror game developed by IllFonic and published by Gun Media. It was based on the Friday the 13th films.

Friday the 13th: The Game was released on May 26, 2017. The game had received numerous new contents with several updates, but development of new content was permanently cancelled due of a cessation of rights caused by a lawsuit between Victor Miller and Sean Cunningham over the rights of the Friday the 13th films.[1] It was later announced in September that Black Tower Studios took over from IllFonic as a developer and worked on development for any future balancing and bugfixing patches.[2] In 2020, dedicated servers for the game was shut down and peer-to-peer is used for online gameplay following a game update. [3]

Due to Gun Media's license for Friday the 13th expiring, the game is scheduled to be delisted on December 31, 2023 and shut down a year later.[4]

Issues fixed

Resolution issues

When changing the resolution and pressing the apply button in the menu confirmation dialogue, it may either apply abnormally, not apply at all or not sticking the next time the game is launched. Display mode settings such as fullscreen, windowed, and fullscreen windowed apply normally with no issues.
Manually edit GameUserSettings.ini
  1. Go to %LOCALAPPDATA%\SummerCamp\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor\
  2. Open GameUserSettings.ini with a text editor
  3. Ctrl+F to find ResolutionSizeX= and ResolutionSizeY=
  4. Replace the resolution values in ResolutionSizeX= and ResolutionSizeY= with a resolution supported by your monitor (e.g. 1920 and 1080)
  5. Save the file
  6. Launch the game, the resolution settings should now apply correctly
