Is there an API for Google Pay? ›

The Google Pay API is available for merchants and users in multiple countries or regions. Google Pay API for India operates on a unique India-only form of payment called Unified Payments Interface (UPI). The integration requires you to provide a Merchant Virtual Payment Address, which is used as your UPI ID.

Google Wallet app allows secure contactless payments with credit/debit cards and digital pass storage. Google has confirmed that the Wallet app is not yet launched in India. However, some users can download the same from the Google Play Store in the country.

However, making international payments through these apps is not straightforward, as most of the payments apps do not support such an option. With Google Pay, however, you can only send money internationally from the USA to India and Singapore.

Google Pay, also known as GPay, is a mobile payments application developed by Google. It has been rolled out in India, Singapore, and the United States. It is scheduled to shut down in the United states in 2024, with functionality merged into the Google Pay website and Google Wallet.

On the left, from the navigation menu, select Google Pay API. Click Get Started. Accept the Google Pay API Terms of Service and Acceptable Use Policy. Under “Integrate your Android app,” find your Android APK name, and click Manage.

Unlike its US version, Google Pay in India uses the Indian government-backed framework Unified Payments Interface (UPI) to enable payments. This is one reason why Google Pay is different in India, and one reason why it might choose to continue giving users a separate option if they are already using it.

The Google Pay app is now the Google Wallet app. This change is simplifies how you store and use cards and passes.

You can use Google Pay to send or request money from family and friends using a mobile phone. You can also pay your utility bills and recharge your prepaid phone using Google Pay. Note: You'll need a Google account, an active Indian (+91) phone number and an active Indian bank account to set up Google Pay.

Indians can now use the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) to make payments in seven countries. Following its launch in Sri Lanka and Mauritius, UPI payments are accepted in France, UAE, Singapore, Bhutan, and Nepal.

From 30 April 2023, international mobile numbers from Malaysia, Singapore, Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, Oman, Qatar, USA, Saudi Arabia, UAE, and the UK will be able to access the UPI transaction facility. It will be available through non-resident external (NRE) and non-resident ordinary (NRO) accounts.

The Google Wallet API allows developers to create digital passes in the Google Wallet. The Google Wallet API currently supports boarding passes, event tickets, loyalty cards, offers, and transit passes.

The Google Play Console includes a suite of APIs that you can use to manage your app: The Publishing API lets you upload and publish apps, and perform other publishing-related tasks. The Subscriptions and In-App Purchases API lets you manage in-app purchases and subscriptions.

Once you have the Owner role, you should see the API access tab in the Google Play Console. From here, you can create and manage service accounts, enable APIs, and view your API usage statistics.
