A fun romp through what can happen when you need to go undetected -- but there's someone watching every single endpoint. Physical ones included! Much love to John Strand and Jack Rhysider -- Izzy from Marketing

Dang… I’ve never really been much of a Comics guy, but I do listen to Darknet Diaries, and this is one darn good treatment! Nice work!

[URL TO SOURCE MATERIAL IN COMMENTS, PHOTO IS MY CLICKBAIT CAT] A newly-discovered APT named "Unfading Sea Haze” have been mining sensitive military and government information, undetected, since 2018. So far, the research by Bitdefender has identified 8 victims, all targets being military and government. It is unclear if countries other than the Philippines were targeted.——-WHAT THIS PERSISTENT THREAT MEANS FOR THE PHILIPPINES:The information gathered since 2018 about our military and government capabilities, preparedness, and strategies is likely why tension and hostility in the region has been escalating lately. This year alone, the Philippines experienced heightened aggression from Chinese maritime forces, including the use of water cannons and dangerous maneuvers aimed at disrupting the resupply of Filipino outposts. These actions reflect China's attempt to assert control over our vital maritime routes and territories, leveraging its military and economic power to shift regional dynamics in its favor. As if real estate prices and inflation weren’t already hjgh enough. These developments underscore the Philippines' vulnerabilities in defending its maritime boundaries as well as its cities and towns that aren’t Metro Manila. This also highlights the critical need for enhanced national security strategies — which DICT is very proud to include “international cooperation” as an integral part of our incident response programs. However having a little help from Uncle Sam isn’t going to do much, am afraid. In fact, any compromise of communications between the U.S. and Philippine forces could undermine the effectiveness of our strategic alliance altogether. Which is why relying on the international community to help us out with CIRT training workshops is only really good for the press releases, DICT. But anyway.China's arrogant posture in the region, coupled with the Philippines’ limitations in terms of military capabilities, creates a scenario where cyber warfare becomes a significant threat vector — especially considering that wiping out our critical infrastructure remotely is a surefire way to cause widespread panic and unrest, making an organized and orchestrated invasion completely possible with the least amount of effort. This whole situation underscores the URGENT NEED for the Philippines to bolster its cyber defenses. We need state-of-the-art threat intelligence, unparalleled network security, MSSPs capable of securing millions of endpoints at once, and experts that will ensure we’ll still be able to function like a country even after Winnie the Pooh decides to make his move. Let me know what you think about this, and what measures should be taken to secure military and government data!#unfadingseahaze #chinese #state #hacker #cybersecurity #apt #military #government #philippines #maritime #usa #usnavy #usdepartmentofstate #usdepartmentofdefense #dod #pentagon #china

Today, as we honor the extraordinary resilience and dedication of mothers everywhere, I’m reflecting on my recent departure from Pragma. This transition, though challenging, has crystallized my vision for the future. I am deeply thankful for my journey at Pragma, which enriched my expertise in more than just cybersecurity and communications. I am grateful to Manish Chawda and Geoff Leeming for teaching me so much about such a fascinating discipline, and inspiring a lifelong quest to communicate within the cybersecurity industry. I found the niche I love, and I can't wait to continue my journey.Having to search for a new job as a working mom and the primary earner in my family however does bring a unique set of challenges and reflections. Across industries, the pressure to outperform your salary or undercut your worth to stay competitive is intense. Someone out there will always be cheaper than you, always willing to work harder than you, and will always seem like a better choice in the long run because they don't let their family life "impinge" on their professional lives. Yet, I believe we can forge a different path. Initiatives like The Mom Project and Moms at Work inspire me—they catalyze change by empowering women to balance motherhood with professional aspirations without compromise.Did you know that according to thefifth annual report in Bright Horizons’ Modern Family Index (MFI) series, performed by Kelton Global, working moms are the most qualified to bring 21st-century leadership qualities to the workplace? This report states that those who “lead like a mom” could be the missing ingredient that helps companies reach their full potential. In fact, 91% of working Americans virtually uniformly think that working parents contribute unique abilities to leadership positions, and 89% believe they bring out the best in colleagues. As I step into the next chapter of my career, I hope to work with an organization that not only respects but champions inclusivity, equal work and equal pay, as well as flexibility. A place where family comes first, where working moms are celebrated for their dedication, and where making family-oriented decisions doesn't equate to career penalties.I am eager to connect with companies and leaders who are pioneering these supportive workplaces. If your organization aligns with this vision, or you know of opportunities where my skills in cybersecurity and strategic communications can drive real impact, please reach out.Women staying engaged in the workforce on their terms is good for families. It’s good for business. It’s good for all of us. Here’s to building a future where every mom has the opportunity to succeed professionally without sacrificing family.#OpenToWork #MothersDay #CyberSecurity #Communications #WorkingMom #InclusiveWorkplaces #singlemoms#homenetworkheroes#gratitude#insiderthreat#humanriskmanagement
