Who is Yumi to Kiryu? ›

She was raised in Kazama's institution, Sunflower Orphanage, where she became a close friend of Kazuma Kiryu and Akira Nishikiyama, the former of whom she would fall in love with.

Jingu tries to kill Haruka, and Yumi is fatally injured protecting her. After Yumi's death, Kiryu decides to adopt Haruka and start a new life. In Yakuza 2, she is 10 years old. Haruka has lived with Kiryu as her adoptive father since the events of the first game.

Dojima is the Chairman of the Dojima Family, part of the Kanto-based Tojo Clan, a yakuza syndicate. He is thoroughly corrupted by his power, and rapes Yumi after abducting her on a whim. Nishikiyama shoots him without thinking, forcing Kiryu to take responsibility to protect his brother from punishment.

Yumi gets some quick mentions by Nishiki during some of his walk sections and scenes. Not much, and they could have talked about her a little more.

Yuta and Haruka briefly date afterward and conceive a child after sharing one night together. Shu Tatsukawa and Koji Masuzoe pressure Haruka into an abortion when they suspect her pregnancy, causing her to learn Yuta was the backup heir to the Saio Triad. With Toru Hirose's help, she disappears.

Nicknamed "The Mad Dog of Shimano" (嶋野の狂犬, Shimano no Kyōken), he takes an interest in protagonist Kazuma Kiryu because Kiryu refuses to fight him when provoked. This results in Majima spending the rest of the game's plot trying to goad Kiryu into fighting him just for fun.

Yumi didn't mean to but she found herself with a crush on Soonrok. Eventually Yumi and Soonrok began dating in secret because they are coworkers. Into the future, Yumi and Soonrok get married, and Yumi becomes a famous romance novelist.

Unlike his friends and colleagues, Kiryu has rarely pursued women; his only love interests, Yumi Sawamura and Kaoru Sayama, have passed away and disappeared respectively, and due to his devotion to Yumi (having held onto her ring long after her death), he has since repeatedly turned down other potential lovers like ...

Yumi Sawamura is a main character in Yakuza/Yakuza Kiwami 1. She is the love interest of both Kiryu and Nishiki, and the mother of Haruka.

In October 1995, Dojima spitefully kidnaps Yumi Sawamura, the adoptive daughter of Kazama, and attempts to rape her. In rage, Nishikiyama shoots and kills Dojima. Kiryu takes the blame for Nishikiyama and becomes known as a patriarch-killer in his stead.

Why did Nishiki turn evil? ›

Once a loyal and kind friend, he became a cold and ruthless man who wanted to prove his superiority over Kiryu. After being defeated, he realizes the error of his actions and sacrifices himself to kill Jingu. Despite his death, Nishiki is still heavily remembered by Kiryu, who still grieves for him.

From my understanding it was Dojima who hired Lao Gui to frame Kiryu so that he can have a reason to antagonize Kazama and take away his power within the family. I assume it was in the empty lot because a clan member killing at that spot makes Kiryu's "murder" much worse of an act.

After Kiryu went to prison and his sister died from complications of her heart condition, he chose to stop trusting anyone but himself. He reveals his romantic feelings towards Yumi, and that he that was jealous of Kiryu because she loves him, and because Kiryu was always stronger and more popular than him.

Now married with a child, Makoto is the proprietor of Hogushi Kaikan, which she had reopened in hopes of finding the man who saved her many years ago so she can thank him. In February, Makoto is working her last week at the massage parlor, as her family will soon move overseas.

Yumi and Mizuki are the same person; "Mizuki" was just an alternate identity. Also, Haruka's father is Jingu, the man from the MBI. That explains why the government is after Haruka that badly.

Yuko was raised at Shintaro Kazama's Sunflower Orphanage, alongside her brother. She, like her brother, was adoptive siblings with Kazuma Kiryu and Yumi Sawamura. However, she became sickly at a young age and spent much of her time in the hospital.
